Therapists don't have to be quiet!

by acm
Feb 23, 2025

Like every other uber-millenial, I graduated straight into “The Great Recession.” This means that I have a tendency to overestimate the value of work…it’s just so…precious!

But this has been a really weird week to do this therapy job. Plus, most of us and our clients have 2 or 3 jobs!

Beyoncé can't even afford to take a day off and neither can we.

I swear she’s about to knock on your door with your next pizza delivery.

JUST KIDDING! She's just trying to stay rich! But at least Bey gives us something entertaining for our money, unlike the clowns in power.

Ever since I left my agency job to become a freelancer and business owner, I’ve always held this little promise in the back of my mind,

“I’ll just try something new, and if all else fails, I can always apply for a government job.”

BUT HONEY?? Not anymore!

The government is shrinking. This was supposed to be the source of a "good job." The safety net. Nope.

Can we blame a typical recession? Not really. Inflation is bad, but there’s more going on.

Can we blame a reasonable, organized audit and reallocation of our public budgets?

Nope.

The government isn’t just shrinking, it’s convulsing. It's chaos.

All because someone with enough money for 100 lifetimes has permission to shut down Medicaid whenever he feels like it.

That seems…weird and…dare I say, coup-like?

What does this mean for us?
