KP Strike Ends, Pride Begins, + This Song Won't Get Out of My Head!

The Working Phase Perspective

The Kaiser Mental Health Strike is Officially Over!

6 months of picketing, arrests, hunger strikes, no pay, to make a stand. You told the system that therapists are just as valuable to the lives of patients as other healthcare professionals.

[In fact, often, therapists are the ones smoothing the aggressively rough edges of a traumatic, if lifesaving, medical system. But I'm not sure we're all ready for that talk yet!]

All respect to the thousands of therapists who sacrificed so much. In the end, it looks like a pension, 5 guaranteed administration hours, and a meaningful raise is in your future.

This is still a very hard job that you do, and there are still some challenges ahead, but for now, I hope you recover well from the fight and can get back to what you love: helping people.

Happy Pride to Everyone [Except the Target corporation]!

If you are not a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, this is a good month to consider how to make the world a bit safer for those who are.

But whatever your identity, please take this Pride month as a reminder to be 100% YOU, because when you try to please everyone, you will fail.

Don't believe me?

Ok, go check out this round up of the confusing 2025 Target Pride collection and get back to me. [Beige rainbows? "Lorem Ipsum" filler text on the tags? Yikes.]

What was Target thinking?

Millenials are just 30-40 year olds who look 20-30 years old and feel 80-90 years old.
